INTRODUCING THE JANUARY 6 LEGAL DEFENSE FUND
We are so pleased to announce the launch of the January 6 Legal Defense Fund Foundation, a non-profit formed specifically to provide financial assistance for legal fees for Defendants charged in the Capital protests that occurred on January 6, 2021.
What you should know about our organization:
We are a non-profit that helps raise money to cover legal fees. The January 6 Legal Defense Fund Foundation (#J6LDF) is a non-profit organization created to assist in the raising of funds to cover the legal costs of charged January 6 Defendants. The cost of appropriate legal representation can stretch into the hundreds of thousands of dollars when a case goes through trial. By helping families, friends, and concerned Americans raise money to help cover the legal expenses of January 6 protestors who have been arrested and become the focus of intense and retaliatory prosecution, we can all help ensure that the rights of Defendants and all Americans are restored and preserved.
We only raise money for charged January 6 Defendant’s legal fees. The #J6LDF helps attorneys who currently represent January 6 Defendants by raising money to cover legal fees, allowing them to focus on representing their clients.
The #J6LDF provides legal referrals for charged Defendants. The Fund works directly with Defendants seeking legal referrals. Defendants not currently represented (or represented by public defenders) can use our legal referral form and we will review their case, make recommendations, and attempt to contact an appropriate attorney to work on their behalf.
The Fund doesn’t provide legal advice or represent Defendants. While attorneys at the Fund will review a Defendant’s case and provide recommendations for appropriate legal representation, we do NOT provide legal advice or represent Defendants.
The Fund assists families and friends of Defendants create fund raising events. In addition to our own general donation campaigns, we can assist families, friends, and communities create and manage donation campaigns to help cover legal fees. Unfortunately, while our rights may be determined by God and enumerated in the Constitution, they are defended in the courts, meaning that those without the financial resources to defend themselves are left with limited recourse. The January 6 Legal Defense Fund seeks to protect the rights of those who might otherwise not be able to defend themselves due to a lack of finances.
The January 6 Legal Defense Fund Foundation is a non-profit organization with pending 501c4 status. The organization’s mission is to provide legal fee, fundraising assistance for charged Defendants impacted by the government’s prosecution of January 6 protestors. The Fund is an independent organization not affiliated with any law firm.
